Hi Friend!
Y’all.
Last week was my son’s spring break and this Monday, we all had a hard time crawling out of bed. The alarm felt like it rang during the witching hour. I almost had to physically drag my child out of the bed. But, we triumphed! Breakfast was eaten, meds were taken and tea was consumed. We got out the door in one piece!
Then, on the way to school, I noticed that traffic was a little light.
A nugget of concern started to take root in my head. Nuggets have roots, you know.
As we pulled up to the very empty parking lot of his school, I felt the dread that only a mother robbed of two more good hours of sleep could feel.
We parked, I checked the calendar, and yes friends, he had Monday off from school.
I told you I failed harder than you this week, lol. The rest of the week went off without a hitch, but I’m still feeling the shame of that mistake, but not enough to not tell you about it, because it is objectively hilarious.
After a week of doctor’s visits, a surprise ER evening and regretting every choice that lead me to an empty parking lot on a Monday, I don’t really have anything else to ramble about this morning, so here’s the good stuff! (There will be some affiliate links with the books)
Podcast!
It’s a Snart (Snack+Art) week on the podcast! Check out this month’s theme, inspiration, activities and a big ol’ list of project ideas! I get progressively more excited as the episode goes on.
Check our the full episode below (or listen on Apple, Spotify or watch on YouTube).
#20 - Snart Theme for April with Becky
It’s time to Snart it up, y’all! I think these are my most favorite episodes to make because I get to do research, learn about new artists and brain dump a ton of project ideas. Ideal!
Small Biz Wishlist!

Curious Home - I cannot deal with how cute everything is in this shop. Handmade home accessories for the ultimate dopamine decor vibes! This shelf is a dream!!
Allison McKeen - Did I expect to find another fun illustrator to follow on IG when I bought a striped shirt on DePop? No. Am I glad Allison included a thank you card from her shop with my secondhand top? YES! This Butter Girl sticker speaks to my soul.

Hatchling Makes - My aunt said that her hummingbirds were back in Central Texas and I hope I can attract some to our home this spring! If I can’t, this pin (a portion of the proceeds go to charity!) is close! (Also, Tash is a friend and a gem!)
Byte Size Treasure - Speaking wildlife and pins, this shop is all sea life themed and these mini shark pins are too cute! (Also, Rew is a friend and another gem! How did I get so lucky with my internet friends?!)

Jenna Vanden Brink - I came across this shop on Instagram this week and loved her process. How cute and delicate are these blueberry mugs?! (Also, this has become the unofficial handmade mug slot for my weekly wishlist haha)
These Things - Amy is a friend from Texas (she did Flair Fest with me yeeeears ago!) and if you like cute things, you’ll like her shop. How precious are these strawberry clips?!
Crafts!
I didn’t make anything new this week, but I did spend a lot of time on Pinterest looking at things I want to make. Does that count?
So far, my current crafts that are on deck are:
A checkered puff quilt! I think I’ll use this tutorial, just with black and white fabric and larger squares.
Charms to go on my new vintage Coach satchel that I snagged on DePop recently. I’m thinking something like this? I was the girl with a ton of charms hanging from her Nokia phone like 20 years ago, so I feel like I’m going back to my roots.
I’m determined to do at least one paper mâché project next week and I just ran across Kitiya Palaskas on Pinterest and I’d love to try her hack for big paper mâché projects!!
Also, don’t forget about Snart if you’re looking for some crafty ideas!
Outfits I Love
So, you know how your photo apps will pop up with like “Eight Years Ago” photos and you’ll start crying over how cute your baby was when they were bitty? My phone showed me that it’s been TWO YEARS since I started sharing outfit photos and videos on Instagram.
I felt like an imposter then, but I wish I’d kept it up, because those videos just fell by the wayside, even though I really enjoyed making them. Maybe I can get it together and start them up again? Even if no one cares, it’s fun for me to try new things!
I’m obessessed with every outfit Erica picks out. Can I just copy and paste her closet?
I’ve been saving a lot of gingham outfits on Pinterest and while I’m not really a mustard and orange kind of gal, I love the bones of this outfit.
And Cat Patterson is forever an inspiration! The patterns! The textures! The colors!
Current Reads
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi (audiobook on Libby) is already favorite! I’m about three quarters of the way through and I’m hoping to finish it in the day or so. The action is intense and the pacing is fast. I’ve already borrowed the second and have the third on hold because that one has a long wait and I know I’ll be impatient when the time comes.
Phantasma by Kaylie Smith (paperback) is the physical book I pick up before bed, take with me to appointments and grab when I need a break and don’t want to scroll my phone. It’s another one that has almost constant action! There’s mystery, spice, lots of horror elements. Love it!
The Pale Horse by Agatha Christie (audiobook via Libby) - I just borrowed this one because I like to have a couple of audiobooks going at the same time and I decided I wanted to make a bucket list goal of reading all of Agatha Christie’s work. I always get sucked in and can’t resist a sassy British woman who’s on the case!
LOOK AT THAT PHOTO! Beans is such a menace! Sprinkles didn’t really mind his antics that much. She has a love/hate relationship with him and he just wants to snuggle. As a dilute torti, she wants none of it. Please zoom in on the the little wrinkles on his nose omg.
Thanks for hanging out this week and reading this far down! Crossing my fingers that I’ll have some actual crafts to share with you next week. Let’s manifest it together!
Don’t forget that you can comment on this newsletter (and it lives forever) on Substack!
K, love you, byeeee!

I did that once as well. Pulled up to an empty school with three kids in the back seat all ready to go. My wife was so excited to finally get all the kids out of the house. You should've seen her face when I came back with everyone.
Check out Sarah Hand too. I have her book and paid for her paper-mache Domestika class that I've yet to watch. Her stuff is super cute.
