Hi Friend!
I’ve been mulling over what to write about in this intro bit for a while and I’m truly at a loss. This week, my husband was away for work and I’ve been solo parenting, just trying to do my best. People who single parent are truly heroes, because this is not for the faint of heart.
We had a lot of feelings, school functions, early dismissals and appoints to get to. The weather was all over the place (Michigan…what are we doing?! Snow?!) and my chronic illness was keeping me on my toes and in the bed very early each night. It’s been a week, y’all.
BUT! We’ve got a crafty playdate later today and I get to hug my precious husband’s neck this evening, so all’s well that ends well. And it’s going to be in the 70s today!!
All that’s to say, I don’t have anything particularly helpful or insightful to share this week, but that’s life sometimes. We do our best and sometimes that’s just doing the bare minimum.
Ok! On the the fun stuff!
Podcast!
This week’s podcast is super short (something had to give, y’all), but I think it packs a punch! It’s 5 ways to support your favorite small businesses. Give it a listen and pick one of the things that you can do to help your favorite artist or small biz today! Most of them don’t actually include spending money, by the way.
Check our the full episode below (or listen on Apple, Spotify or watch on YouTube).
#22 - 5 Ways to Support Small Businesses Right Now with Becky
Today, we’re talking about some concrete things you can do to support your favorite small businesses and indie artists right now because the tariffs are stressing everyone out.
Small Biz Wishlist!

Anetteprs - This is a Baba Yaga hug candle/incense holder! INCREDIBLE!
Shelley Couvillion - This sticker came across my Instagram feed and it made me actually giggle. So good!

Paper Panther Press - This shop features giclée prints of a few tattoo artists’ work and I’ve always got heart eyes for
’s work! This spring flash is too pretty!Lucy McCall - I’ve been following her for years on IG and absolutely adore her style! How cute is this little cat figurine?

Cotta Ceramics - Ok, it’s not a mug, but how cute are these strawberry candle holders?! I can’t with their little moufs.
The Burlap Bag - Lauren is a good friend of mine and her candles are top notch! I’ve got a Crazy Cat Lady candle burning in my kitchen as I write this.
Crafts!
Ok, ok, yes. I’m terrible at this section right now! I did get my Christmas quilt almost sandwhiched together before Andy left, so I’m counting it as a win. AND we’ve got friends coming over for some paper mache fun today, so that’s fun!
Oh! And I bought some beads this week to make earrings, which is totally unrelated to any of my crafting goals but seemed very important at the time. We’ll see what happens with that!
For actual crafty news and classes, please check out
’s newsletter! This one has a whole list of events she’s hosting soon and I wish I could go to all of them. Also, I ran across @otofromtky on IG and her series on traditional crafts from Japan is so interesting!
Also, don’t forget about Snart if you’re looking for some crafty ideas!
Current Reads
Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi (audiobook on Libby) - Ok, I just finished this yesterday and I couldn’t believe I could get any more wrecked than in the first one, but no. I sobbed in my car MULTIPLE TIMES. These books are so good and I’ve already started the last. Getting my tissues ready.
Annie Bot by Sierra Greer (hardcover from the library) - Tbh, I’ve not gotten through the second chapter of this one. I’ll get there eventually, but only because I’m hoping for some kind of feminist, robot uprising.
Trial of the Sun Queen by Nisha J. Tuli (paperback) - This one has been my bedtime read, but I’ve been so wiped this week, I’m only about halfway through. I’m still not sure who to trust, but I do want our main character to catch a break omg.
I finished the Legend of Zelda manga, but I don’t have time make a new graphic right now lol.

The juxtaposition of Michigan spring: Random snow shower and our cherry tree finally blooming! We’re riding the waves lol.
And how amazing is this shot of Mooch? My little land seal. I caught her mid meow and couldn’t resist sharing her discontent with you lol. This is her favorite spot and how dare I come over to take a photo!
Thanks for hanging out this week! I hope you find some fun small businesses to follow and support. And let me know what you’re making and reading. I’d love to chat💕
Don’t forget that you can comment on this newsletter (and it lives forever) on Substack!
