#23: Is anyone else obsessed with KPop Demon Hunters?
Hi Friend!
This week Iβve had the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack on repeat and just took it slow. Our AC went out over the holiday weekend, so we had our own sauna thanks to the Michigan humidity. It was fixed first thing on Monday and all was well.
β‘
Speaking of all was well, here are three things bringing me joy right now:
Not having to pay multiple thousands of dollars for a whole new AC system π¬ In this economy?!
Animal Crossing - Weβve all been playing again and itβs so fun to keep and eye out for stuff that Andy and Emmit want and go to their island to drop off gifties. My sister is the master of ACNH and sheβs helped us out immensely, too! Itβs a family affair!
This carrot cat toy from Meijer (Iβm sure you can find other places!) that Beans goes ham on! Itβs hilarious how much he hates it and loves it lol.

Ok! On to the fun stuff!
Reels & DIYs!
Just one chatty reel this week! We went to the library and I wanted to show you the Christmas craft books I found and the projects that stood out to me. Iβm hoping to have a crafty weekend with my guys (who are so graciously going on along with my holiday delusions lol).
DIY: Hand Carved Cat Stamps
Hi! Iβm Becky and I like making stuff and chatting with creative people. This publication is funded by readers like you and subscribers support this little creative space on the internet β‘
Small Biz Wishlist!

Pyper Blue - How cute is this cat shirt, designed in collaboration with Baby Bahn Mi Tattoo?
Sparkle Collective - I love a good sun catcher and this moon kitten decal is perfection!

Augury Press - I saw a pull of this print on Instagram and had to add it to the list! Everything in their shop is so fun, but I do love Trixie and Katya.
Peachy x Noodle- Iβm sorry, but these keycap fidget keychains are ADORABLE!

Pinestripe - This is a pre-order, but what a precious pre-order to look forward to! This Halloween mug is just too much π. Hereβs a closer look on Instagram.
Inkwell Threads - This shop has a lot of bookish merch and they give to charity! This shirt is amazing and raises money for the ACLU!
Crafts!

(Fabric from Urban Chiks Christmas Kitty collection (left) and Christmas in the Cabin collection by Art Gallery Fabrics (right))
So, I tried to make a couple of things this morning that Iβd been putting off, but, as with all projects I need to do βjust really quickβ, these gave me every bit of trouble I could think of.
Thread snapping and coming out of the needle
Missing seam ripper
Uneven stitching
Every time I needed something, I realized that Iβd left it in the basement and had to run up and down the stairs
All very minor things that were super annoying at the time.
I attempted the quilted coaster from the library book I got this week, but I feel like my quilting looks a little silly because I didnβt want to stitch over the catβs face is the middle. And my machine really didnβt want to do the top stitching on the bookmark, plus, I realized after finishing that the triangle fabric was on upside down π«
Hot Tip: Sometimes, even if youβve been practicing a craft for 25+ years, you can mess up the simple stuff. Iβm constantly amazed at my ability to be bad at a project the first time I try it lol.
Deep breaths. Touch grass. Get a snack. Start again later!
Also, donβt forget about Snart if youβre looking for some crafty ideas!
Mini Book Haul!
Metal Slinger by Rachel Schneider - I grabbed this from Schuler Books the other day because Iβve heard lots of good things about it. Mainly, some kind of bonkers twist? We shall see!
A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers - I finally finished her first book in this series and loved it so much that I went to buy the second immediately, but no one around me had it! Iβll have to order it from a local bookstore eventually, but for now, my library came through!
Current Reads!
Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven (hardback) - I am like 20 pages from the end and things are WILD! I wasnβt expecting the twist in this one and Iβm absolutely finishing it today.
A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair - I listened to the audiobook version of this modern-day Greek god spicy romance and ate it up. Is it fine literature? No. Is it a really good time? Heck yes!
Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry - Emily Henry is an auto buy author for me and while I do have the hard back of this, I waited to listen to the audiobook, because I just love the narrator! Iβve listened to all her books and couldnβt break the streak for this one. Iβm only a couple of hours in, but the main character is made of sunshine and the tall, handsome rival is extremely grumpy, so I know Iβm in for a good time lol!
This Week!
This was a slower summer week, but sometimes I need that. Thereβs still plenty of time for roadtrips, vacations and outings around town. Sometimes just laying on the couch and watching KPop Demon Hunters is the best case scenario! In fact, most days thatβs the case πββοΈ
Iβm getting super excited for next week, though, because the Ann Arbor Art Fair kicks off and Iβve got my walking shoes and wallet ready!! Almost 1000 artists will take up 30 square blocks in downtown! Get me in there!
Donβt forget that you can comment on this newsletter (and it lives forever) on Substack!
K, love you, byeeee!
